Terms of Service
Last updated July 20, 2026
These terms cover your use of HoneCV. By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use HoneCV. We've kept the legalese to the minimum a small team needs.
Who can use HoneCV
You need to be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, generally at least 18, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. By using the service you confirm you can legally agree to these terms. If you're using HoneCV on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
What the service does
HoneCV imports a resume you already have (you upload a PDF or paste in the text), uses AI to restructure it into a clean, ATS-safe format, lets you edit and tailor it to specific jobs, and lets you download it. We give you the tool; the content is yours. Using HoneCV requires an account.
Accounts
Using HoneCV requires an account: you sign in with Google or an emailed magic link before you import, edit, tailor, or download. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens under it. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. What an account stores and how we handle that data is described in our Privacy Policy.
AI-generated output
The restructuring is done automatically by an AI model, so the result can contain mistakes: misread dates, reordered sections, dropped details, or wording you didn't intend. It is a starting point. It is not finished, verified, or professional career or legal advice. You're responsible for reviewing and correcting the output before you rely on it or send it to an employer, and HoneCV isn't liable for the consequences of using un-reviewed AI output. That's exactly why every result stays fully editable.
Your content is yours
You keep all rights to your resume and anything else you put into HoneCV. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process, format, tailor, store, and display your content back to you so the service can work. We don't claim ownership of your content, we don't sell it, and we don't train our own AI models on it. Beyond running the service for you, we only act on your content in the ways you opt into (such as sending you product email, matching you with jobs, or referring you to employers), as described in our Privacy Policy. (Structuring and tailoring your resume sends its text to a third-party AI provider; see the Privacy Policy.)
Your responsibility
The tool formats and frames what you give it; it does not verify that your resume is accurate. You're responsible for the truthfulness of what you put in it and for how you present yourself to employers. You also confirm you have the right to use everything you upload: don't upload content, logos, or someone else's personal data you don't have permission to use.
Acceptable use
Keep it to what the service is for. Specifically:
- Don't use the service to break the law or infringe someone else's rights.
- Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Don't upload malicious files, or someone else's personal data without their permission.
- Don't try to access other users' content or our systems without authorization.
- Don't resell, rebrand, or scrape the service, or use it to build a competing product.
- Don't misuse the AI features to generate content that's illegal or harmful to others.
Free and paid plans
The core (import, edit, and download) is free. The free plan includes three PDF downloads a month and one resume. A paid Pro plan adds capabilities like unlimited downloads, per-job tailoring, and multiple resumes, billed monthly ($15/month) or annually ($120/year). If you subscribe, the price is shown up front, there are no silent surprises, and you can cancel anytime, and cancelling stops future charges. Payments are handled by Creem, our payment processor and merchant of record. We never watermark your resume or lock away your work: anything you've created stays yours to edit, keep, and export (within the free plan's monthly allowance) even if you stop paying. A subscription buys more downloads and premium features, never access to your own work.
Refunds. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you may cancel a purchase within 14 days for a refund. Otherwise, subscription payments are non-refundable, but you can cancel anytime to stop future charges and keep access through the end of the period you've paid for.
Intellectual property
Your content stays yours. Everything that makes up HoneCV itself, from the software and design to the brand, name, and templates, belongs to us (or the people we license it from). Using the service doesn't give you any rights to our brand or software beyond the permission to use the service as intended.
Copyright and IP complaints
If you believe content on HoneCV infringes your copyright or other rights, email us at hello@honecv.com with enough detail to identify the content, your contact information, and a statement of your claim. We'll review each notice and remove or disable access to infringing content where appropriate. This is our informal notice-and-takedown process; we don't currently operate a formally registered copyright agent.
Third-party services
HoneCV relies on third parties to work: an AI provider (reached through a routing service) to structure and tailor your resume, an authentication and data-storage provider to run accounts, analytics and hosting providers, and, for paid plans, a payment processor. We choose these carefully, but we don't control them, and the service depends on them being available. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply to the parts they handle. If one of them has an outage or changes, it can affect HoneCV.
No guarantees
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We work hard to produce clean, parser-friendly resumes, but we can't promise that any specific applicant tracking system, recruiter, or employer will accept your resume, or that you'll receive interviews or offers. We also don't guarantee the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI will structure every resume perfectly, which is exactly why you can always edit the result. None of this affects warranties or rights that can't legally be excluded where you live; nothing in these terms is meant to take those away.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, HoneCV isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, for example a missed opportunity or a job you didn't get. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us, if anything, in the period leading up to the claim. Since the core is free, for most users that amount is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can't be excluded under the law that applies to you, for example liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Indemnification
In plain terms: if your use of HoneCV (for example uploading content you didn't have the right to use, or breaking these terms) causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result. We'll let you know if that ever comes up; this isn't something we expect to invoke.
Termination
You can stop using HoneCV anytime. We can also suspend or end access (for instance if someone breaks these terms or misuses the service), and we'll try to be reasonable and give notice when we can. Either way, your work stays yours to edit and export (within the free plan's monthly allowance, or without limit on Pro). The parts of these terms that should outlast the relationship (like the content-ownership and liability sections) continue to apply after it ends.
Changes to the service and these terms
We're a small team building this out, so the service will evolve: features may be added, changed, or removed. We may also update these terms; when we do, we'll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll try to flag it more clearly. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
HoneCV is operated by Clingier Media, based in the Philippines. These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute that can't be resolved informally is subject to the courts of the Philippines. We'd much rather sort out any problem by talking it through, so please email us first and give us a fair chance to make it right.
The rest
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies, and that one part is just trimmed to the extent needed. These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and HoneCV about the service, and they replace any earlier understandings. If we don't enforce a term right away, that doesn't mean we've given it up.
